Trump refusing to ‘embrace’ the climate agenda is the ‘greatest perplexing moment’ for World Economic Forum, says Marc Morano –
ClimateDepot.com executive editor Marc Morano joins ‘The Bottom Line’ to dissect President Donald Trump’s appearance at the World Economic Forum and his climate policies.
Rough Transcript:
Brian Brenberg: LET’S BRING IN CLIMATE DEPOT.COM EXECUTIVE BETTER MARC MORANO. GREAT TO SEE YOU,
PRESIDENT TRUMP CAME OUT WITH A WHOLE BUNCH OF EXECUTIVE ORDERS HAVING TO DO WITH CLIMATE CHANGE AND CLIMATE POLICY. WHICH OF THOSE IS DRIVING THE FOLKS AT DAVOS CRAZY THE MOST?
Morano: The single greatest thing that Trump does that drives Davos bonkers is rejecting their child — which is the United Nations Paris Climate Accord. That is their baby, and that’s what they worked on for decades since 1992 with the RIO Earth Summit, which they have been concocting, and Trump kicked the Paris pact to the curb completely. There is talk that he will submit it to the Senate for ratification, which would kick the whole process out and give it a permanence that we didn’t have last time in Trump 1.0. Not embracing the climate agenda has to be the greatest perplexing moment for the World Economic Forum, ‘How could an intelligent person disagree with us?’ If we actually faced a climate crisis and had to rely on the United Nations to save us, we would be doomed.
…
Morano: I’m starting to think that Trump has powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men. Trump has turned Mark Zuckerberg into a free speech advocate and he now sounds like Thomas Paine. Trump ended the United Nations Net-Zero banking alliance with Bank of America and the Federal Reserve pulling out and collapsing it. Trump has gone after DEI, ESG: Environment Social Governance. What he needs to do now is continue the unbelievable energy revolution and go after the heart of this, and he needs to look at the funding for the silly and ridiculous climate studies.
