Trump Dumps Biden’s Useless and Expensive Electric Car Charging Network Schemes
More good sense is washing over D.C. and Donald Trump has not canceled Joe Biden’s useless and obscenely expensive (and failed) plans to build a nation-wide network of electric vehicle charging stations.
This idiotic Biden plan was a boondoggle since day one. And since Biden claimed to have dedicated $40 billion to create the charging network, and actually threw $7.5 billion at the project, his efforts yielded a whole seven stations as of March of last year.
So, Trump has put the whole program on hold as he reviews the wasteful foolishness.
In a memo released last week, the Trump Department of Transportation noted that the contracts for any project in the middle of being built will be honored. But all future plans are now on hold.
The memo pointedly informs contractors that “no new obligations may occur under the NEVI Formula Program.”
This is a victory.
If electric cars really are the “future,” a network of charging stations will organically arise.
No government assistance should be needed. And none should be expected.
